Job Responsibilities

• Selective Pruning of trees for best health
• Improve building and service line clearances
• Deadwood / hazard removal
• Lateral shaping as needed
• Structural supporting / cable and bracing
• Crews use advanced climbing techniques and equipment to move around in trees safely
• Rope rigging using friction device to help lower branches and wood safely to the ground
• Crane rigging used when practical
• Utilize chain saws, hand saws, and mechanical pruning tools
• Communication with ground crews to work in unison
• Clean up and removal of tree debris
• Maintain regular attendance
• Overtime opportunities
• Perform duties as assigned

Required Job Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to drive a truck with trailer
• Able to stand all day and lift 50 pounds
• Experience in a tree care industry or similar field 

Desired Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• CDL preferred but not required
• Driven individuals with strong work ethic and attention to detail
• A willingness to learn and grow within an award-winning company
• Preferred strong verbal and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of machinery and equipment maintenance

At D&J’s Complete Tree Service – Ankeny, we are committed to providing a work-life balance for our team. We work Monday-Friday, we are closed Saturdays and Sundays, apart from an emergency job (tree on a house), that may require the team to work on a weekend.
